5K40.29 • DC Generators: CENCO DC Generator & Galvanometer

Instructions / Notes:

• What was a CENCO DC motor has been converted to a DC generator with the addition of two permanent magnets.
• The rotating coils of the DC generator - when spun - provide less than 25 mA to the galvanometer.
• Rotate the center coils of the DC generator clockwise and the students will see a positive current on the projected Galvanometer.
• When the center coils are spun counter clockwise, a negative current flow is observed via the projected Galvanometer
