2B30.15 • Air Pressure: Crush a Soda Can

Instructions / Notes:
- A soda can containing enough water to cover the bottom is heated over a bunsen burner.
- With a pair of tongs, the can is quickly inverted into a beaker of ICE and WATER, submerging the can deep enough for the lid to touch the bottom of the beaker.
- The upside down can will collapse inward rapidly while held in the water.
Demo Staff:
- Ensure the bunsen burner is clamped onto the table
