2C20.10 • Bernoulli Force: Bernoulli Tubes
Location: Cabinet 2
Photo shows the demonstration used at the University of Texas at Austin
Instructions / Notes:
- Turn on the air valve under the bench.
Concepts Conveyed:
- Air passes through wide (outer) and then narrow (inner) pieces of the top of the glass tube. At the narrower piece, the air flows at a higher velocity than the wider pieces.
- Bernoulli's Principle: the higher the velocity, the lower the pressure.
- This can be seen by the column of water in the middle rising.
Demo Staff Instructions:
- Connect the demonstration to an air valve under the lecture bench.
